WHEN WILL I SEE MY RESULTS?
Results of your Botox injections will take a full two weeks to reach their optimum effect. Your treatment results will develop over a few days, allowing you to subtly adjust to the visible changes. I offer a review appointment three weeks post-treatment, which is included in the treatment cost. At this review any adjustments can be made to ensure that you are completely happy with your results.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
The aesthetics effects of botulinum toxin will vary in terms of longevity depending on the condition of the skin, area treated, amount of product injected, injection technique and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure and smoking. As a general rule, you can expect your results to last for around three to six months. After this time, you will require a repeat treatment if you wish to maintain your results.

Before the procedure
-
• Schedule a consultation at least 4weeks before any special event.
• Be prepared to discuss your medical history with the practitioner. This includes any allergies, medical conditions, medications you are taking, and any previous cosmetic treatments you have had.
• Stop taking blood thinners: Avoid taking blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen, for several days before the treatment. These medications can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
• Avoid alcohol: Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours before your treatment, as it can also increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
• Avoid using any skincare products that contain harsh chemicals or acids, such as retinoids or glycolic acid, for several days before the treatment. This can help minimize the risk of skin irritation and complications.
• Arrive with a clean face: Make sure to arrive at your appointment with a clean face. Do not apply any makeup, lotions, or other products to the treatment area.
• Be prepared to attend the follow up appointment after 2-3 weeks.

After The Treatment
-
1. As expected for any injection procedure skin redness, facial pain and bruising may be associated with the injection.
2. You may get headache, which usually can last few hours up to 48hours. You could take over the counter pain killers preferably Paracetamol as Ibuprofen can increase the risk of bruising.
3. Very rarely a patient may experience difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, difficulty speaking, muscle weakness, swelling of the face. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of them symptoms.
4. Occasionally if the toxin travels to unintended areas you could experience a droopy eyelid (ptosis). If it happens you should contact me for an assessment.
5. Refrain from touching the treated area for 3-4 hours. After this time, when you wash the area, do so gently and pat it dry carefully with a soft towel. Do not rub or massage the treated area for 48 hours.
6. Remain upright for 4 hours and avoid excessive bending during this time. If you have to bend down to pick something up, bend your knees and keep your face upright.
7. Avoid sleeping on your face for the first night.
8. When applying your make-up or moisturiser use dabbing motions instead of rubbing or spreading for 48 hours.
9. Do not have any facial treatments that may promote ‘tracking’ of the Botulinum Toxin to neighbouring areas, for 14 days.
10. You should avoid tiring physical exercise or taking sauna/heat or exposure to sunlight on the day of the treatment or 24 hours after.
11. Please avoid alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment.
12. Do not fly within the first 24 hours.

ARE THERE ANY BOTOX SIDE EFFECTS?
-
Side effects from botulinum toxin injections vary depending on the area receiving treatment. Most issues are mild and improve in a day or two. Possible Botox side effects include:
• Bruising and swelling, plus redness at the site of injection
• A headache or even flu symptoms during the initial 24 hours post treatment
• If you have too much Botox, you may look ‘frozen’ as your muscles will become immobile
• If Botox moves into other areas of the face such as your eyelids you may develop a temporary ‘droopy’ look in your face
• Rarer side effects include breathing problems if you’ve had Botox injected in your neck, or sight issues if your eye area is injected
